Mobile Data and MMS Settings (Including APNs)

We have three different ways for you to get Data and MMS settings set up on your customer’s handset. These are:

  • Through the Gamma Website
  • Through our Over The Air service
  • Manually entering in our APNs

Through our Over the Air (OTA) service #

Over the Air (OTA) handset settings will send the settings through to your customer’s handset within 2 hours of the SIM being placed in a handset and the handset being switched on. Though your customers can also request these settings by sending a text with the word “Data” to 773000. We’ll then detect the handset’s make and model and send the settings through.

Through the Gamma Website #

You can go to the Gamma website (www.gamma.co.uk/support/mobile-data-settings) and from here you can enter your Gamma mobile number and select your make of handset if different from the one shown. You can then choose to follow on-screen instructions or send the exact settings the handset needs to get online with Gamma Mobile, as well as being able to send and receive multimedia messages.

Sending the settings through is done with two messages, one as a “warm up” text and then the actual settings. For iOS customers (Apple devices) they’ll be sent a link to the settings to be installed.

If the handset is not supported, a text is sent to advice your customer of this.

Manually entering in our APNs #

You can use our handset manual guide from the Gamma website (http:/www.gamma.co.uk/support/mobile-guides/) to find your customers handset and then manually enter the below APNs in order to get Data (internet services) and MMS (multimedia messages) to work.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU REBOOT YOUR HANDSET FOLLOWING ANY APN CHANGES.
